Danielle feels the need to create something everyday. As a child, she enjoyed trips to the arts and craft store in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She was encouraged by her mother (and Bob Ross) who bought paint sets, an easel and canvas for the young artist. A love of art lead to a bachelor’s degree in Art History. As an illustrator and painter, Danielle showcases and teaches watercolor, acrylic, oil and mixed media art. She spent seven years teaching art at a private school, kindergarten through high school. For four years she worked with adults and children in her studio based art school in Occoquan, Virginia. The space become home to those looking for art instruction and stress reduction. With an MA in Artistic Meditation, she sees the healing and meditative nature of the creative process, believing that there is comfort in making the art and the skills that grow and develop over time. Danielle is also a Certified Zentangle Teacher. Zentangle is a mindful method of drawing meant to provide focus and relaxation and enhances the Red Art + Living mantra “Draw, Paint, Meditate.”
